It is March already. I know – crazy right? This week we are exploring the galaxy, working as a team in a fantasy world and trying to get past the bit we are stuck on in RE7.
Monday & Tuesday: Elite: Dangerous – exploration time – co-pilots may appear.
Wednesday & Thursday: Trine – fantasy puzzle-platforming with special guests!
Hi folks. As some of you will know, Zeus, my dog, is getting on in years and has been at the vet a few times lately. This week we have another two visits and new medication and more. I am very tired so I won’t be on stream for the first couple of nights this week but hopefully we will both get some rest soon and I will be back in action.
I will post an update here as soon as there is a schedule ready, for now though there is definitely not a stream Monday or Tuesday. Thank you for being understanding about this – he is my whole world.
This week I am going to revisit a game series that I enjoyed a few years back – Trine. I played the first two games in the series solo but the games can be played co-operatively so I would like to involve other players this time. In case you don’t know the game is a sort of puzzle, platformer, physics thing. If you have Trine or Trine 2 then come along and have a go.
Wednesday night is another co-operative game, our semi-regular zombie fest in Left4Dead2 with special guests. Thursday is another classic gaming challenge, this time I am aiming for a high score in one of my favourite Golden Era arcade games – Missile Command. Rounding off the week with the continuation of Resident Evil 7.
Mostly Elite:Dangerous this week where I will be providing some “muscle” as MadKiller’s minder as he does haulage missions in a space truck. MadKiller and myself will be mining for riches in a quiet system. Other players are welcome to join us as always. Friday sees the start of a new Friday Fright Night game…
Well – we made this month’s donation goal, the server is paid for, some HDMI cables were added to the HDMI matrix that Beni donated a while back and I ordered a new wireless mic set to replace the one that went up in smoke.
Wee Blue Prick
Next month’s goal will be at least in part to cover the wireless set upgrade and the server bill as usual. The next pay for pain goal will be dreamt up soon.
Which brings me to this week’s schedule. Monday evening 8pm to 11pm UTC, 3 hours guaranteed, all Sonic games. If you have a favourite Sonic game that you would like me to play then let me know on stream (I don’t have them all but I have most of the emulatable ones). We will start with the Megadrive Sonic 1 and 2 and go from there…
The middle of the week we will be exploring the galaxy in Elite: Dangerous. I have ideas for non-combat co-operative sessions and I hope you will join us.
Friday night I am hoping we will complete The Subject, making way for another new FFN game I have waiting in the wings.
After a disrupted week last week and a long bonus stream on Saturday I estimate there are one or two streams left of finishing the B-17F model. The main paintwork is to be done as well as applying the decals and sealing the model. The remaining days will be the start of a new retro challenge series, a possible Old Fart versus Young Person™ night and the continuing of the survival puzzle game, ‘The Subject’ on Friday.
Monday & Tuesday: Completing the F-17F “Memphis Belle”
Update: I had to cancel Monday’s stream, I will replace FFN with the model stream instead. Apologies!
The result of the poll over the weekend is in. You have chosen the B-17F “Flying Fortress” model kit. Tonight we will be working on all the smaller parts at my desk. Tuesday to Thursday we will move over to a larger table and work on the body of the aircraft and fitting the smaller assemblies into place then finishing the paintwork.
I think my biggest challenge will be painting a large surface area model like this without an air brush. I will be doing the base colour using an Army Painter “two in one” primer and base colour spray can. All other coats and detailing will be done with traditional brushing, stippling and dry brushing with some techniques I have been studying recently. I am notoriously bad with decals as well so that is something I will be trying very hard to get right.
I will try to do as much of this project as possible on stream but some stuff may have to be done at other times for logistical reasons.
Tuesday: Small assemblies and preparation
Wednesday & Thursday: Large assemblies and fitting sections together
Friday: Finishing main painting and decals and adding some weathering and other details.
Next week will be a week of building and painting a new model, I have made a poll to let you peeps decide which model I will work on. An update post will be published around lunchtime on Monday with the final schedule.
The donation goal for January is live and the reward for the stream if it is reached is that Hamish will play an entire night (a full 3 hours!) of Sonic the Hedgehog games on stream.
All donations to help support Hamish throughout January will count towards the goal. You pay for my pain.
Thanks to everyone who can help out and thanks just for watching and reading my nonsense even if you can’t.
