Hey kids, you know what is cool? Video Games! I will be whipping out my Big One™ and getting down to some classic arcade game action as the year comes to a close. I am working on a video about shoot ’em up games so I will be playing SEU games this week to get some footage and also have fun, of course :-).
It’s time to whip out the HOTAS and get back in the cockpit in Elite: Dangerous. I feel like it has been quite a long time since we did any E:D so it will be nice to jump back on before the new update lands. If any commanders want to join my server then just let me know.
Last week was still disrupted by sporadic fireworks keeping Zeus nervous and needy. I am hopeful that this week I will be able to stream all 4 nights! Going to play Wesnoth campaign stuff with a possible MP if enough people fancy it later in the week.
Monday – Thursday: Battle for Wesnoth campaign play.
The return of streaming and this week will be some gentle model painting and chat. The models on the workbench at the moment come from Star Wars: Imperial Assault and some Age of Sigmar. There might be something new to show you later in the week as well. I have managed to persuade Madkiller to try out yet another game with me and the models should arrive next week.
There have been (so far) 8 days of mass fireworks, some nights sustained for up to 3+ hours. Zeus has been a complete mess to the point where he only has to hear one firework now and he starts shaking uncontrollably. He has also been attempting to dig through floors and the shower to find somewhere to escape to after realising neither front nor back door provide respite. On the actual Bonfire Night (5th November) it was so bad he soiled in the house.
Coping with him and having to take him out for toilet activities through the night after he gets a few hours to calm down have taken their toll on me as well. I am absolutely exhausted, I grab a few hours sleep in the late morning if I can but I haven’t had a proper sleep for about 9 days.
I would like to stream again as normal but I am not sure that is possible. For some reason there are huge numbers of arseholes in the UK who buy fireworks because they are there and let them off for no reason whatsoever. The result is that Zeus can be triggered into a panic any time from late afternoon until about 3am from October until spring. He won’t go out for a walk from late afternoon onwards and the furthest he goes is to the communal area in front of the house. On Thursday there were sustained attacks of around 4 hours then a couple of revivals later in the evening (including after the legal time limit). On Friday he wouldn’t go any further than our garden.
If it was only one or two days a year and people were considerate of others then it would not be so bad. But once fireworks are on sale, simple-minded dickheads have to buy them and let them off at random. The result is that it is very rare to have an evening all autumn and winter *without* any fireworks going off.
Before I get more angry and annoyed I am going to wrap up. The bottom line is that I don’t know what is happening in the next week with streaming. I doubt it but, if tomorrow night is calmer, I might be ok for getting back to it. I will attempt to post an update on Monday at some point.
Hi Folks. After having to cope with a completely stressed out dog because of fireworks all weekend I am totally buggered. I will not be streaming on Monday night this week but I will be on Tuesday – Thursday. My brain is frazzled so I don’t want to think too hard about what to stream so it will be more Wesnoth. If enough people are around for a skirmish then that’s great, if not I can play campaigns. Wednesday evening is the most likely for a team-skirmish session.
The last week of October is upon us and this week will be all about Battle for Wesnoth. I will be playing through one or more of the big campaigns and at least one evening will be a rematch for the multiplayer skirmish so be sure to let me know what evening(s) you can play.
Monday – Thursday: Battle for Wesnoth with one evening MP skirmish, tbd.
