After a disrupted week last week and a long bonus stream on Saturday I estimate there are one or two streams left of finishing the B-17F model. The main paintwork is to be done as well as applying the decals and sealing the model. The remaining days will be the start of a new retro challenge series, a possible Old Fart versus Young Person™ night and the continuing of the survival puzzle game, ‘The Subject’ on Friday.
- Monday & Tuesday: Completing the F-17F “Memphis Belle”
- Wednesday: TBC: Old Fart versus Young Person™
- Throwback Thursday: IK+ Black Belt challenge
- Friday Fright Night: The Subject
Update: I had to cancel Monday’s stream, I will replace FFN with the model stream instead. Apologies!
The result of the poll over the weekend is in. You have chosen the B-17F “Flying Fortress” model kit. Tonight we will be working on all the smaller parts at my desk. Tuesday to Thursday we will move over to a larger table and work on the body of the aircraft and fitting the smaller assemblies into place then finishing the paintwork.
I think my biggest challenge will be painting a large surface area model like this without an air brush. I will be doing the base colour using an Army Painter “two in one” primer and base colour spray can. All other coats and detailing will be done with traditional brushing, stippling and dry brushing with some techniques I have been studying recently. I am notoriously bad with decals as well so that is something I will be trying very hard to get right.
I will try to do as much of this project as possible on stream but some stuff may have to be done at other times for logistical reasons.
- Tuesday: Small assemblies and preparation
- Wednesday & Thursday: Large assemblies and fitting sections together
- Friday: Finishing main painting and decals and adding some weathering and other details.
Next week will be a week of building and painting a new model, I have made a poll to let you peeps decide which model I will work on. An update post will be published around lunchtime on Monday with the final schedule.
The return of streaming and this week will be some gentle model painting and chat. The models on the workbench at the moment come from Star Wars: Imperial Assault and some Age of Sigmar. There might be something new to show you later in the week as well. I have managed to persuade Madkiller to try out yet another game with me and the models should arrive next week.
- Monday – Thursday: Model painting.
Mostly model painting this week as I still have a large number to get through for Star Wars – Imperial Assault and AvP: The Hunt Begins. Friday Fright Night is back this week so poopy pants ahoy for the end of the week.
- Monday – Thursday: Model painting
- Friday: Fright Night!!!
Taking inventory of my Star Wars: Imperial Assault models I realised that I have a lot of them to get painted. I also have all of the Alien Versus Predator: The Hunt Begins models to paint. I asked on the Matrix channel and a brief poll got 3 votes for doing SW and 2 votes for AvP. So all week long I am going to run a production line of painting on streams, trying to get a chunk of the SW ones done. I will be painting the AvP soon too, there may be a bonus stream or two of that at the weekend. FFN has returned and this week we experience the sequel to last week’s game.
- Monday – Thursday: Model Painting
- Friday – Friday Fright Night! Horror gaming.
- Saturday/Sunday – impromptu bonus stream(s) of more model painting
This week I will be painting several miniature figures, starting with one for friend of the stream, (F1)Madkiller! – for his Warhammer 40K army. Once that is finished I will do a few of my own figures, probably Star Wars: Imperial Assault ones.
- Monday – Warhammer 40K figure painting
- Tuesday – Finish WH 40K figure and possibly start some Imperial Assault figures of my own
- Wednesday & Thursday – Continuing with my own figure painting
I had to take some photos of a game that I am selling (Warhammer Quest: Silver Tower), featuring some miniatures I painted. I thought I would share a couple of the pictures with you.
This week is another craft week, the plan is to create a small scene on a board. The board can then be used as the basis for a diorama or for RPG or wargaming scenery.
- Monday – Thursday: Making a Scene!
Something a bit different this week. All week long I will be preparing, building and painting a scale model. I took inventory of the kits I had around to be done and asked people in Matrix what they liked the look of. So this week we will be building an Apollo 11 Moon landing scene.
- Monday – Thursday: Model making.
