October 2026 Update
Hello my little PolarBearCubs!
I am home from our short trip to Scotland. As some of you may know I started driving last year and passed my test at the end of March. On Sunday I made my first ever motorway journey from Somerset all the way to Stirling in Scotland! (And back again on Tuesday). I took two breaks each way and although it was tiring it was not terrible. Peanut the dog behaved moderately well most of the drive.
The hotel staff completely spoilt Peanut and he made many new fans amongst the guests too! He also met Bruce the dog - Mum’s friend Jackie’s dog, who ironically lives less than an hour away from here but was in Scotland for the final farewell. Hopefully they will meet each other again, perhaps at my new house with its enclosed garden.
With the help of Mum’s sister, Angela, we found a lovely spot near a waterfall in the Ochil Hills at Alva Glen. Angela (auntie), Alan (step-dad) and Jackie (one of Mum’s best friends) and her husband Tony (and Bruce the dog) as well as myself and Peanut were in attendance.
The next adventure is moving houses. Dad’s house move should happen first, hopefully this month but I discovered that a process that takes 4-6 weeks in Scotland can take many months down here for no discernable reason. We are in the hands of solicitors still.
The trip to Scotland did reveal to me that my step-dad needs more care than I realised when out of our normal environment. Given the current upheaval with the impending house moves I have decided to take a longer break from streaming etc. until I am in my new home. This will allow me more energy to cope with things until we are settled.
Sadly due to solicitor crap as I mentioned above, this might be quite some time, perhaps even near the end of the year. I apologise for the long absence and I hope you won’t all forget about me! The good news as I mentioned previously is that I will have a dedicated studio space in the new house so everything will be bigger and better than ever!
I am still around in the usual online chat places, mostly on the Fediverse. I will be setting up a laptop to keep me online and reachable by chat and email as I pack everything else up for moving.
Stay hoopy
